My name is Hikmatullah Jamili. I am a Fulbright scholar, Urban Planner/Civil Engineer from Afghanistan. 

In 2021, I joined the Astig Planning firm--a Woman-Owned and Operated small business-- headquartered in the city of Iowa City, Iowa, where I worked on a diverse set of projects such as Economic Development, Housing Advocacy, Teen Resilience, Brownfield Redevelopment and more.

Throughout graduate school, I have been an active member of an international team of watershed planners dedicated to developing a long-term comprehensive watershed management plan for the Maquoketa River, Iowa as a capstone project. The goal of the project was to develop a plan that meets the need of the community and addresses the watershed issues.
